I have 3 years experience in tutoring in the UK. I have been tutoring GCSE Chemistry, Physics and Biology and KS3 science. I have tutored different exam boards over the 3 years including iGCSE, Edexcel, and OCR. Every pupil tutored had a very high success rate. My style is to prompt pupils to find the answer themselves rather than give them the answers. Lessons are split with subject content and exam practice. Towards exam time, lessons will be spent on exam technique and what examiners look for.

Lessons are planned using the TEEP (Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme) cycle as this enables the pupils to learn new information, construct meaning and then apply it to a new situation to ensure they have grasped the concept. Lessons are tailored to the individual needs of the pupil and their learning style. The techniques I employ are: Deep questioning with probing, use of visual aids such as a mini-whiteboard to support abstract concepts, Use of videos to support the teaching of processes and extended answer exam questions.
