I attribute my success as a tutor to two things. Firstly, I empathize with my students and try to get down to their level and approach the topic from their point of view. Secondly, I am very flexible and try to approach each student differently, with a long term plan for success. My theory is, all students are different, and it is unfair to them that all of them are taught with a similar approach. I have worked as a private English tutor for two years. Each of my six students has improved their level from A1/A2 to B2. The approach that has proven to be effective for me is individual approach. Hence, during the free introductory lessons I make sure to understand a student’s needs and assess their initial level to be able to build a unique and most appropriate plan. As we move on along the course, I keep adjusting the teaching style and pace, since I get to know the student’s habits, weaknesses, and strengths. Similarly, I adjust the amount of homework according to the student’s business during the week and preferences for individual revision of the material. My classes are unique because they are interactive and efficient.
