I'd first let them complete a past paper under timed conditions then mark it with the student so they understand what the mark scheme requires and then discuss how to improve their answers to get full marks. I'm very flexible with my approach to teaching since I know every student has their own style of learning so I am willing to employ different approaches to teaching to match the needs of the student.
